Dr. Paul Dente Ellis

He was born in Lake Tahoe, California and he was formerly a registered nurse in a trauma/surgical intensive care unit after he completed his undergraduate education in nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno. After being a bedside RN for three years, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a physician where he earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. With a passion for service and adventure, he was a member of the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged after repaying his active-duty service commitment.

Dr. Dente Ellis is committed to staying at the forefront of medicine, specializing in gynecologic surgery and obstetrics, and having a special interest in continued medical education. Known for his friendly smile and kind bedside manner, he makes sure his patients feel heard, valued, and confident in their care. He blends cutting-edge medical advancements with a personal touch, because, as he likes to say, “Medicine (and pregnancy) is serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t smile and have fun together along the journey!” He believes every pregnancy is a team effort and that prevention and being proactive are vital.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Dente Ellis enjoys spending time with his husband and their Ohana including their four daughters and two dogs, Koa Bexar and Kailani, who run the household. He has special interests in medical acupuncture, wellness, and LGBTQIA+ healthcare and advocacy. He’s an avid traveler, a Disney enthusiast, a horror fanatic, and always on the hunt for the next great meal.
